Role : Head of designAs the Head of Design at GoRetro, I led the design strategy and direction for the platform. I collaborated closely with cross-functional teams to define the user experience and interface, ensuring a seamless and intuitive retro board creation process. I oversaw the visual design and branding, creating a cohesive and engaging user interface. Additionally, I conducted user research and gathered feedback to continuously improve the design and enhance the overall user experience of GoRetro.

We faced the challenge of redesigning GoRetro's navigation and dashboard to accommodate expanded tools and features. This transformation allowed us to create a more comprehensive platform, making it easier for users to access and utilize the various tools available. The redesigned navigation and dashboard now provide a seamless user experience, catering to the evolving needs of our users.

The Solution
We implemented several solutions to address the challenges in GoRetro's navigation and dashboard. Firstly, we introduced a centralized meeting management system, allowing users to easily find their scheduled meetings and create new ones. Additionally, we enhanced the navigation structure, enabling users to seamlessly switch between different teams and projects with just a few clicks. These solutions greatly improved the user experience, making it more efficient and intuitive for users to navigate and utilize the platform's features.

Capacity calculator
The problem
The challenge of sprint capacity calculation for development teams lies in accurately estimating the available resources, time, and effort required to complete the planned work within a given sprint. It involves considering factors such as team members' availability, their individual skills and expertise, any external dependencies, and potential risks or uncertainties. Determining the team's capacity ensures that the workload is appropriately balanced, maximizing productivity and minimizing the risk of overcommitment or underutilization. Effective sprint capacity calculation helps in efficient sprint planning and enables teams to deliver projects on time with optimal utilization of resources.
The solution
I created a capacity calculator that eliminated the need for guesswork and helped team managers accurately estimate resources for each sprint. This user-friendly tool allowed managers to input team members' availability, skill sets, and task estimates, enabling efficient resource allocation and improved project planning.

The problem
Planning Poker addresses the challenges of estimation accuracy and collaborative decision-making while fostering consensus building within the team. It streamlines the estimation process, saving time and promoting efficiency. Additionally, it adds a fun and engaging element to the process, making it enjoyable for team members. By meeting these needs, Planning Poker enhances the effectiveness of agile project planning and execution.

Goretro teams management remake
The problem
The old team management page was outdated, confusing, and cumbersome to navigate. It lacked intuitive design and organization, leading to difficulties in accessing and managing team-related information.
TheSolution
The new teams page offers a streamlined experience by sorting teams into "My Teams" and "Joined Teams" sections. It features collapsible sections that provide a quick overview of teams and enable users to take swift actions. This design enhancement improves efficiency and makes it easier to manage teams effectively.

The problem
The previous GoRetro brand look didn't resonate well with users, as it was considered unremarkable and lacked the desired appeal. The generic characters and stiff design failed to capture attention or leave a lasting impression. Users found the visual elements to be less engaging and lacked the vibrancy they were looking for. It became evident that a fresh approach was needed to breathe new life into the brand and create a more appealing experience for the target audience.

The revamped GoRetro look introduces custom and unique neo-geometry illustrations that perfectly convey the idea of all the elements in a sprint fitting together like a puzzle. The use of pastel light colors adds a pleasant touch, allowing the text and product shots to take center stage while maintaining a fun, simple, and playful atmosphere. This new visual direction ensures a captivating and enjoyable experience for users, making the GoRetro brand stand out with its fresh and modern aesthetic.

Social & product hunt launch
When we launched GoRetro on Product Hunt, the response from users was overwhelmingly positive. Our product quickly gained traction and climbed to one of the top three spots on the platform. We received numerous upvotes, along with an influx of quality traffic to our website. Users expressed their enthusiasm through positive comments and feedback, highlighting the value and appeal of GoRetro's unique features and user experience. This successful launch on Product Hunt further validated the strong demand for our product and solidified GoRetro's position as an exciting and well-received offering in the market.
